ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Breona Jones poured in a career and game high 23 points as the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings steered past The Lincoln University 60-50 Wednesday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

The Lady Viking defense held Lincoln, the current Northern Division leader, to just 50 points and 29% shooting.

Lincoln slips to 17-6 overall (CIAA 9-4) and suffers their second division loss of the season, falling to 5-2 in the CIAA North. Dejah Taylor was the only Lady Lion in double figures on the night with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Lions trailed the entire contest but rallied from 44-35 second half deficit to tie the game twice down the back stretch. First, Courtney Smith nailed a three pointer to tie the game at 44 with 8:10 remaining in the game. ECSU's Alliyah Floyd and Courtney Lucas exchanged jumpers for the final tie of the contest (46-46) at the 7:33 mark.

ECSU exploded out the gates early, opening the game with an 11-0 lead and at the 15:24 mark of the first half held their largest lead (18-2) after a layup by Jadda Jefferies. Despite their quick start, ECSU held a slim 38-24 lead at halftime. Jefferies rounded out ECSU's double figure scorers with 19 points.
