CHARLOTTE, NC- Three members of the Elizabeth City State University women's basketball team have been recognized on the CIAA weekly honor list.

Imani Heggins and Jalyn Brown have been named CIAA Newcomer and Rookie of the Week while Laquanda Dawkins has been tabbed as the CIAA Coach of the Week.

Imani Heggins scored double figures in each of ECSU's two road victories last week. The Chesapeake, VA native finished with 16 points in a one-point win over Barton College and chipped in with 15 points in the Lady Vikings' 79-68 victory over The Apprentice School.

Freshman guard Jalyn Brown scored a season-high 21 points against The Apprentice School as the Lady Vikings, who were winless at the start of the week, won their first two games with road victories against Barton College and The Apprentice School.

After a 0-5 start, first year coach Laquanda Dawkins steered the Lady Vikings to a 2-0 record last week with non-conference road wins over Barton College 63-62 and The Apprentice School 79-68.

ECSU will return to the court for a three game road trip beginning with Shaw University Tuesday night at 6pm.
