CHARLOTTE, NC- Sophomore guard Breona Jones has been named to the 2015-16 Preseason All-CIAA Women's Basketball Team as released at the annual CIAA Basketball Media Day Thursday morning.

The preseason team and predicted order of finish are voted on by the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

At the conclusion of her freshman campaign, Jones, a native of Henderson, NC, was named the CIAA Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year. She started in all 27 games for ECSU last season, leading all freshmen in minutes played, points scored and scoring average. Jones finished the season as the Lady Vikings' second leading scorer at 10.2 points per game and led her team in both assists and steals.

The 2015-16 predicted order of finish is as follows; in the CIAA North, defending champion Virginia State is picked to win the division followed by The Lincoln University, Chowan, Virginia Union, Bowie State and ECSU. Livingstone College was again voted to win the CIAA Southern Division followed by Johnson C. Smith, Winston-Salem State, Fayetteville State, Shaw University and Saint Augustine's.

The Lady Vikings finished last year with a 13-14 overall record secured the #3 spot in the CIAA Northern Division. They will begin the 2015-16 campaign on Saturday, November 14th against Virginia University-Lynchburg.
