LINCOLN, PA-The Lincoln University Lady Lions remained undefeated in the CIAA Northern Division with a 79-54 triumph over Elizabeth City State University Wednesday evening at Manuel Rivero Hall.
Jadda Jefferies scored a game high 22 points and Jasmine Boyd finished with 17 points in the division setback.
The Lady Lions were led by Courtney Michelle, who nailed four three pointers in route to 17 points. Lincoln shot a solid 52% from the field for the game while limiting ECSU to just 25 second half points. The Lady Vikings' 15 baskets versus Lincoln is a low in made field goals in a contest this season. They also shot a season worst 27% from the floor.
After holding a seven point lead at halftime, Lincoln opened the second stanza on a 16-5 run to take a 52-36 advantage with 10:36 to go in the contest. A jumper by Lucas at the 7:41 mark gave the Lady Lions (13-40, CIAA 5-2) a 21 point advantage and their largest lead, a 30 spread, came with 1:48 left in the contest.
ECSU did most of their scoring from the from throw line in the second half (14-23) as they made only five field goals from the floor in the final 20 minutes.
ECSU (7-10, CIAA 2-6) will return to action on Saturday, January 24 against Virginia State University. Game time is scheduled for 2:00pm at the RL Vaughan Center.
