RALEIGH, N.C. - Sophomore point guard Porscha Walton finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds as Saint Augustine's University went on a late spurt to pull away from Elizabeth City State University 67-57 inside Emery Gymnasium on Saturday.

The contest was the CIAA women's basketball opener for the Lady Falcons (6-4 overall), who captured their fourth consecutive victory while, just the opposite, the Lady Vikings drop their fourth straight contest.

The double-double was a career first for Walton and the rebounds were a career-high for her. She also added five assists.

Walton and junior forward Brittany Allen keyed the Lady Falcons to a whopping 51-32 rebounding advantage including a 21-10 edge on the offensive boards. Allen snatched a career-high 11 rebounds and sophomore guard Regime McCombs pulled down eight rebounds to go along with nine points.

The ferocious rebounding by the Lady Falcons helped them overcome a second-half deficit after leading the entire first half. The Lady Vikings (0-2 CIAA, 3-8) led 40-33 on Derricka Henry's basket with 12:20 remaining, but the Lady Falcons scored seven points off offensive rebounds to spark a game-deciding 34-17 run.

Sophomore forward Victoria Davis scored a layup off two offensive rebounds to give the Lady Falcons control at 56-48 with 2:25 left in the game. For the contest, the Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Vikings 22-9 in second chance points.

Just as in their previous matchup, the Lady Falcons wore down the Lady Vikings with depth. The Lady Falcons constantly rotated players, bringing in as many as four or five players at a time. It paid off which showed in the rebounding category. Eleven of the Lady Falcons' 13 players saw time with eight players scoring five or more points.

Their rebounding offset 28 points from DaShera Boone. No other Lady Viking scored in double figures or totaled double digits in rebounds. Their rebounding also helped the Lady Falcons overcome 36 percent shooting and 22 turnovers.
