Final Stats

BOWIE, MD- Stephanie Harper scored a game high 17 points as the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings toppled Bowie State University 56-39.

ECSU remains atop the CIAA North with a 5-0 record in the division.

The Lady Vikings held Bowie State (6-13, CIAA 3-8) to just 20% shooting in the first half as ECSU raced out to a 33-14 lead at the half.

Bowie State was out-rebounded by ECSU 35-25 and the Lady Vikings scored 27 points off the Lady Bulldogs' turnovers. The Lady Vikings opened the game on a 7-0 and never trailed in the game. Two free throws by Stephanie Harper with 8:21 left in the first half gave the Lady Vikings a double digit cushion that would hold the rest of the way. ECSU led by as much as 25 in the game.

Shatara Jackson scored 11 points while Jasmine Whitehurst chipped in with 10 points off the bench. Jasmine Jacobs was the only Lady Bulldog in double figures with 10 points.

ECSU (18-3, CIAA 10-1) will return to action on Saturday, February 9 when they host the Play 4Kay breast cancer awareness game versus Chowan University. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm.
