Final Stats
ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Belmont Abbey College used a strong first half to cruise to a convincing 62-46 win over Elizabeth City State University at the 2013 Chick-fil-A Lady Viking Classic Saturday evening at the RL Vaughan Center.
After a tightly contested game in the opening minutes the Lady Crusaders exploded with a 21-5 run to take a commanding 33-14 lead at the intermission. Their lead expanded in the second stanza as Belmont Abbey's led by 28 (54-26) with 9:12 remaining.
The Lady Crusaders assisted on 22 of their 27 made baskets, outscored ECSU 24-16 in the paint and dominated the fast break game 18-4. All of their efficiency came from their offense and Belmont Abbey went 1-1 from the free throw line on the evening.
Morgan Midkiff was BAC's high scorer on the night with 13 points while Kelsey Long and McKenzie Owen netted 12 and 10 points respectively.
DaShera Boone was the only Lady Viking in double figures with a game high 15 points.
