Final Stats
LINCOLN, PA- Lincoln University rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Elizabeth City State University 55-48 Tuesday evening at Manuel Rivero Hall.
The Lady Vikings committed a season high 31 turnovers, which translated into 25 points for the Lady Lions. ECSU won the battle of the boards (47-36) including 20 offensive rebounds but managed only 17 second chance points.
The Lady Lions were also the beneficiaries of shots from the free throw line making more 21 (on 21-35 attempts) to just 6-16 shooting from ECSU.
After trailing 27-22 at the half Lincoln used an 8-0 run and at the 8:51 mark took their largest lead of the game, a seven point margin, 40-33. The Lady Vikings charged back to tie the game at 40 apiece with 6:27 to go until the Lady Lions replied with a rebound and put-back by Courtney Lucas and a big three-pointer by Brittney Waters.
Stephanie Harper hit a jumper at the 4:03 mark to pull ECSU with a basket but the Lady Vikings hit only one field goal in the waning minutes while Lincoln (7-19 overall) sealed the win at the free throw line hitting 7-8 shots in the final 1:04.
Harper collected her 9th double-double of the season with 13 points and a game high 14 rebounds while Denyse Moore and Sharay DuBose each tallied 13 points to lead Lincoln.
