Final Stats

LYNCHBURG, VA- Stephanie Harper scored 18 points and Derricka Henry chipped in with 11 points as the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings downed Virginia University of Lynchburg 65-50 Tuesday night.

The Lady Viking defense held their opponents to just 37% from the floor, as the Lady Dragons connected on only 19 of 51 attempts from the field. Additionally ECSU scored 13 second chance points off of 12 offensive rebounds.

After 20 minutes of play the Lady Dragons trailed 34-28 at the intermission. ECSU then opened up the second half on an 11-4 run and with a Jasmine Whitehurst 3-pointer at the 14:32 mark, the Lady Vikings took their largest lead of the game 47-32. The Lady Vikings held a double digit advantage and VUL would get no closer than within 12 points the rest of the way.

Harper finished one rebound short of a double-double with 9 boards, 7 of which came on the offensive glass.

VUL (2-3) placed three in double figures led by Ebony Ellis with team highs of 12 points and 6 rebounds.

ECSU (4-1) will be in action this weekend at the Thanksgiving Holiday Chick-Fil-A Classic hosted by Virginia State University.
