ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings overwhelmed Mid-Atlantic Christian University in a 102-29 blowout on Wednesday night at the RL Vaughan Center.
The Lady Vikings opened up the game on a 15-0 run and never looked back, exploding to a 65-8 halftime lead on 67 % shooting. The undermanned Lady Mustangs committed an abysmal 27 first half turnovers which led to 45 points for ECSU.
The only ECSU starter that logged more than 13 minutes Wednesday night was transfer Derricka Henry who finished with 4 points, 13 assists and 4 steals in 21 minutes. Freshman guard Khadijah Bryant led all scorers with 26 points and 8 steals off the bench for ECSU. Ya'Shonti Bridgers has a career night with her first ever double-double, posting personal bests of 16 points and 11 rebounds.
ECSU shot a blistering 65% from the field on 45-75 shooting and out-rebounded the visitors 44-22.
