WILLIAMSBURG, VA- Emily Correal posted a game high double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds as William & Mary defeated Elizabeth City State University 81-70 Friday evening at Kaplan Arena.

Due to ECSU's cold shooting first half (22.9%), the Tribe (7-5 overall) built a commanding 41-20 halftime lead. Correal led the charge for W&M in the first half posting 16 points and 9 rebounds of her eventual double-double. The Lady Vikings were unable to keep pace the opening half due to poor free throw shooting, converting only 3 of 10 shots from the charity stripe.

The Tribe grabbed its largest lead of the game, a 24 point advantage (44-20) with the second half's opening basket, a 3-pointer by Katherine DeHenzel.

ECSU used some hot 3-point shooting and double digit second half scoring by Jasmine Walker, Shatara Jackson and Jasmine Whitehurst. The Lady Vikings rallied whittling the deficit to just five points, 63-58 with 7:27 to go. After hitting only 1 of 8 from 3-point range in the opening stanza, the Lady Vikings connected on 7 of 15 attempts. Walker, who finished the game with a career high 19 points, went 3-6 from downtown while Jackson led ECSU with 15 of her team high 23 points in the second half. Whitehurst chipped in with 10 second half points and was 2-3 from 3-point range.

The Tribe edged ECSU at the free throw line in the second half hitting 17-22 shots. Taysha Pye went 10-12 from the line en route to 18 second half points. As a team ECSU shot 11-12 from the charity stripe in the closing half.
