HAMPTON, VA- Elizabeth City State University's Shatara Jackson has been named CIAA Newcomer of the Week as released by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Jackson scored in double figures in all three games last week as the Lady Vikings posted a 2-1 record. She avg. 15.3 points, 4.7 assists and 5.3 steals over that three game span and had a season best seven steals in an overtime win over Lincoln (PA). Her scoring totals for the week were 16, 18 and 12 points.

Her best all-around performance came versus Saint Augustine's where she scored 18 points, dished out 5 assists, stole the ball 6 times and blocked one shot. In the CIAA the junior guard from Wilmington, NC ranks in scoring, assists and steals.
