BOWIE, MD-Bowie State University placed four players in double figures as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Elizabeth City State University Monday at the A.C. Jordan Arena.
Bowie State shot nearly 52% from the field in the second half to capitalize on a 32-21 halftime lead. On the other end ECSU connected on only 16 of 63 shots in the game for a percentage of 28.6 although they out rebounded the Lady Bulldogs 45-36.
The Lady Vikings turned 22 offensive boards into a 13-5 advantage in second half points.
Bowie State's balanced scoring was instrumental in their first Northern Division win of the season, especially in their bench scoring. The Lady Bulldogs' reserves blanked ECSU 31-0 and as team BSU outscored the Lady Vikings 30-18 in the paint.
Chanita Jordan and Lakisha Walker both scored 11 apiece for Bowie State who improves to 8-7 overall and 4-4 in the CIAA.
Stephanie Harper tallied a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds while Shaquella Johnson led all scorers with 18 Points.
