LATE RALLY PUSHES LADY FALCONS PAST ECSU 69-64

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Saint Augustine's College Lady Falcons rallied in the game's closing minutes to capture a 69-64 win over Elizabeth City State University Thursday evening at the RL Vaughan Center.

With 3:35 left in the game, Wykeemia Gray hit a jumper to give the Lady Vikings a 60-56 lead. Then, sparked by a three-pointer by Crystal McCaffity and a three-point play by Allison Sikes, the Lady Falcons closed the game on a 13-4 run to seal the win. With the exception of two free throws by Shatara Jackson with 2:15 left and a Kenyatta Gill layup as time expired, the Lady Vikings went scoreless from the floor in the waning minutes.

ECSU enjoyed a 38-31 lead at the break behind 12 first half points apiece from Jackson and Gill. The Lady Vikings dominated the post outscoring SAC 44-22 and held a 35-25 rebounding edge.

On the other end the Lady Falcons (11-5, CIAA 6-1) made the most of their time at the free throw line, shooting a productive 80% from the charity stripe on 32-40 attempts while the Lady Vikings went 11-16 from the line.

Allison Sikes had a game high 28 points while Gill topped the Lady Vikings with 25 points.

Jackson finished with 18 points, 5 assists and a season high 6 steals.
