Final Stats
WILBERFORCE, OH- Kenyatta Gill tallied her first double of the season as the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings rallied for a 70-64 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College at the Ben Waterman Classic.
Gill put up game highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Vikings won their fourth consecutive game. Those totals represent season bests for her.
Kentucky Wesleyan (4-2) led 31-22 at the intermission and with 6:45 to go in the contest held a 61-49 lead. Defensively the Lady Vikings stepped their intensity, denying the Lady Panthers of a field goal over the game's final six minutes.
Over that same stretch the Lady Vikings went on 17-2 run and on a layup by Gill with 1:08 left to play ECSU claimed a 66-63 advantage. She went 4-4 from the charity stripe in the game's closing seconds to seal the win.
Shatara Jackson poured in 15 points in the victory, 13 of which came in the second half.
