HAMPTON, VA- Elizabeth City State freshman guard Kearah Jefferys has been named to the 2009 CIAA Women's All-Rookie team as voted on by the CIAA Sports Information Directors.

Jefferys, a native of Wake Forest, NC, was recently named CIAA Rookie of the Week after collecting her 17th game in double figures as a starter for the Lady Vikings. Jefferys started in 23 of 26 games this season averaging 10.9 ppg which is 14th best in the CIAA. In the conference she is 8th in assists and ranks 2nd in both free throw percentage and steals. Jefferys scored a career high 28 points against Fayetteville State on January 29th.

The 2009 Basketball All-Rookie Teams will be honored at the CIAA Tournament tip off luncheon next Tuesday in Charlotte, NC.
