LADY VIKINGS DEFEAT CHOWAN HAWKS 63-54

ELIZABETH CITY, NC-The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings snapped a six game winless streak with a 63-54 victory over Chowan University Thursday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

Chowan University drops to 4-11 overall and remains winless against CIAA opponents this season.

The Lady Vikings built a 32-20 lead at the intermission and were never seriously threatened in the second half of play. The Hawks only connected on 17 field goals (52 attempts) for 32.7 % from the floor. They also struggled from the free throw line converting only 18-33 shots.

The Lady Vikings placed three in double figures with Joyce Freeman again leading the way with a team high 16 points. Ashley Anderson and Kearah Jefferys added 14 and 11 points respectively.
