Final Stats
RICHMOND, VA-The Virginia Union University Lady Panthers sank 8 of 12 free throws in the final three minutes of regulation for some cushion and a victory over Elizabeth City State University Saturday afternoon at Barco-Stevens Hall.
For the game the Lady Panthers (6-9, CIAA 3-6) converted 19-of-34 attempts from the charity stripe to just 8-of-15 shots for the Lady Vikings.
A tightly contested game throughout its duration the contest saw 6 ties and 11 lead changes. The difference in the game proved to be the free throw attempt which in the second half alone favored VUU 14-26 to just 5-7 for ECSU.
Sophomore Briana Glover led all scorers with a career high 21 points. Kara Scott had 18 points for the Lady Panthers while Ashley Hill tallied the game's lone double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
