ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Saint Paul's College junior guard Juantale Cook scored a game high 23 points as the Lady Tigers defeated Elizabeth City State University 85-72 Thursday night at the RL Vaughan Center.
With the win Saint Paul's who led the entire contest, raised its record to 7-9 overall and 4-4 in the CIAA. The Lady Tigers shot a solid 50% from the field in the game and bested ECSU in fast break buckets 16-6. Tatiana Ellis, the CIAA's leading scorer contributed 20 points.
Sharde Brown scored a career high 12 points for the Lady Vikings. Ashley Anderson also scored 12 while Kearah Jefferys and April Whitaker scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Whitaker added 10 rebounds for her fifth career double-double.
ECSU (2-13, CIAA 0-8) will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Richmond, VA to take on Virginia Union University. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm at Barco-Stevens Gymnasium. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
