MOUNT OLIVE DEFEATS ECSU LADY VIKINGS 88-70

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Four of Mount Olive College's starters scored in double figures as the Trojans captured a 88-70 win over Elizabeth City State University Monday afternoon at the RL Vaughan Center.

After trailing 45-24 at the break the Lady Vikings cut the lead to 8 (49-41) on a jumper by Kearah Jefferys with 14:08 to go. The two teams traded baskets before the Trojans' Brittney Robich connected on three consecutive three-pointers, pushing the lead to 64-46. Afterwards the Trojans (6-1) maintained at least a 16-point advantage for the duration of the contest. Mount Olive, who never trailed in the contest, was paced by both Tomeka Prichard and Brittany Miller with 16 points apiece.

Four Lady Vikings scored in double figures led by Joyce Freeman's 16 points. April Whitaker captured her 3rd double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
