ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Wendy Stywalt scored 10 of her game high 18 points in the second half to help Johnson C. Smith University erase a three-point halftime deficit for a 67-53 victory over Elizabeth City State University Tuesday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

Stywalt also grabbed a game high 12 rebounds. The Lady Golden Bulls finished the contest with a commanding 52-35 advantage on the glass, 22 of them offensive boards.

Conversely, ECSU who scored 21 points after the break, shot 9-30 from the field in the second half including 0-4 from long range. JCSU went on a 23-4 run approximately four minutes into the second stanza, capturing a 14-point advantage (57-43) to put the game out of reach. Like Stywalt, Demetria Bell also tallied a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Joyce Freeman and Kearah Jefferys both scored 15 points apiece for the Lady Vikings. April Whitaker had her third straight game with double figure rebounds with 10 boards.
