Final Stats
WILSON, NC- Barton College improved to 6-1 overall with an 89-74 victory over Elizabeth City State University Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.
After a competitive first half which saw the Lady Vikings trail by eight (43-35) at the intermission, the Lady Bulldogs opened up a double digit lead on an Esty Flores layup to begin the second stanza. Barton would maintain a double figure lead for the duration of the game, pushing the lead to a many as 22 points (79-57) with 4:31 left in the contest.
The Lady Bulldogs nearly doubled the Lady Vikings in rebounding with a 57-39 edge, including 22 offensive rebounds.
ECSU placed four in double figures with Briana Glover scoring a team high 17 points. Joyce Freeman, Kearah Jefferys and April Whitaker all scored 15 points apiece. April Whitaker grabbed a game high 13 rebounds to tally her second double-double of the season.
