LADY GOLDEN BULLS DEFEAT LADY VIKINGS 78-56

CHARLOTTE, NC- The Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls earned a 78-56 win over the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings Tuesday evening at Brayboy Gymnasium.

The Lady Golden Bulls dominated the rebounding in Tuesday night's contest 63-44 in route to a 26-10 second chance point advantage. JCSU (3-2, CIAA 2-1) outscored the Lady Vikings 41-25 in the second half after leading ECSU by only six (37-31) at the intermission. Both Demetria Bell and Brianna McClelland grabbed 14 rebounds apiece while Bell scored 13 points for her double-double. Wendy Stywalt led all scorers with 17 points.

Lady Viking freshman Kearah Jefferys led ECSU with a team high 16 points.

The Lady Vikings (1-3, CIAA 0-2) will take the court again on December 4th when they host Cheyney University at the RL Vaughan Center. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
