Final Stats

WINTER PARK, FL- Elizabeth City State junior guard Joyce Freeman scored 11 of her game high 18 points in the second half but it was not enough as the Lady Vikings dropped a 71-58 decision to Rollins College Saturday afternoon.

After a tightly contested first half, the Lady Vikings faced a 38-24 halftime deficit. The Tars (1-0) opened up a 27 point lead with 6:40 remaining in the game then ECSU closed the game on a 20-6 run, 10 points of which came Freeman. In her debut in a Lady Viking uniform sophomore Briana Glover tallied 17 points while April Whitaker registered her second career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

Rollins placed three in double figures led by Jessica Pressley's 15 points.

The Lady Vikings (0-1) will open up CIAA play against Livingstone College on November 20th in Salisbury, NC. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm. For more information ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
