ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Elizabeth City State University senior guard Deanna Price registered her second triple double this week as the Lady Vikings defeated Shaw University 82-63 Saturday night at the RL Vaughan Center.
After notching her fourth career triple double on Tuesday night against Bowie State in Maryland, Price, a native of Washington, DC, tripled ECSU fans' pleasure with a 17 point, 10 rebound and 10 assist performance. She also added six steals to bring her average to 4.8 per game, which tops NCAA Division II.
Other Lady Vikings assisting the scoring charge for ECSU were Tiffany Smith, Celeste Trahan and Ashley Bowman. Smith, who finished with a game high 22 points, also registered 10 rebounds. Trahan had another double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds while Bowman chipped in with 10 points. The Lady Vikings shot 49% for the game going 34-69 from the field and with the victory remain atop the CIAA Eastern Division with a perfect 6-0 record.
The Lady Bears slip to 13-8 overall, 9-5 in the CIAA and with the loss, saw their 7-game win streak come to an end. Jamie Goshen and Na'Keisha Anthony paced Shaw with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
The Lady Vikings (16-5, CIAA 13-1) return to action on Saturday, February 10th in Lawrenceville, VA as they will complete the season series with Saint Paul's College. Game time is slated for 2:00pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
