HAMPTON, VA- Celeste Trahan has been selected as the 2007 CIAA Women's Player of the Year as voted by the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

This season Celeste, who was a four-time Player of the Week, led the CIAA in scoring, rebounding, and blocks, while ranking second in field goal percentage. Just three games into her junior year she became a member of the 1,000 point club and earlier this month became the first woman in ECSU history to record her 1,000th career rebound. In NCAA Division II she is fourth overall in rebounding, 18th in scoring and has also placed amongst the CIAA All-Time Career Leaders list at 6th in rebounding and 26th in scoring.

Trahan, along with the other All-CIAA honorees, will be recognized at the 2007 Women's Tip-Off Banquet in Charlotte, NC on Sunday, February 25th. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
