HAMPTON, VA- For the second consecutive season Deanna Price, a senior guard on the Elizabeth City State University women's basketball team had been named CIAA Defensive Player of the Year.
A native of Washington, DC, Price currently leads NCAA Division II in steals per game with an average of 4.8 per outing. A consummate all-around basketball player, she also ranks 2nd in assists, 13th in rebounding and 18th in scoring and 6th is assist/turnover ratio. This season she registered two triple doubles in a week to bring her career total to five and is currently ranked third all-time in the CIAA in assists and fourth all-time in steals. She also reached the 1,000 point plateau earlier this year.
