HAMPTON, VA- Two members of the Elizabeth City State University Lady Viking basketball team have received weekly honors as announced by the CIAA office Monday afternoon.

Freshman guard Shaquella Johnson has been named CIAA Rookie of the Week. Johnson, a native of Elizabeth City, NC, scored in double figures in two of the Lady Vikings' three games last week with her best outing coming against Johnson C. Smith with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. She also netted 10 points in ECSU's 64-60 win over Livingstone last Thursday.

Finally All-American center Celeste Trahan receives the 11th CIAA Player of the Week honor of her career. In three games last week Trahan recorded a double-double in each, bringing her career total to 66. In the Lady Vikings' game against Saint Augustine's on Saturday in Raleigh, she led all scorers with 27 points and 25 rebounds. She has now moved into 14th place all-time in CIAA in scoring and is 2nd all-time in rebounding.
