ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings placed four in double figures in a 91-79 win over Livingstone College Saturday afternoon at the 2007 King/Witherspoon Classic.
Both Tanika Hudgins and Celeste Trahan registered double doubles in the 12- point victory, which gave ECSU a season sweep over Livingstone (6-7, CIAA 3-3). Hudgins finished with game highs of 22 point and 13 rebounds while Trahan notched the 49th double-double of her career with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Deanna Price and Ashley Bowman finished with 14 points and 13 points, respectively.
The Lady Blue Bears came into the game riding a four-game win streak and after facing a 54-34 halftime deficit, they fought valiantly to keep in alive. Facing a 20-point deficit with 7:52 remaining the Lady Blue Bears outscored the Lady Viking 20-7 to trim the lead to 7. ECSU then scored 6 unanswered to push the lead back to double digits for the duration of the contest. After the run that got them back in the game, Livingstone only scored only twice from the field over the final five minutes on baskets by Clintoria Bryant.
Kimberly Westray came off the bench to lead her team with 15 points while Bryant and Jonta Moss added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
