Final Stats

SALISBURY, NC- Elizabeth City State junior forward Tiffany Smith scored a career high 47 points as the Lady Vikings defeated Livingstone College in overtime 121-113 Tuesday night in William Trent Gymnasium.

For her career night, Smith netted 22 in the first half, 21 in the second and 4 in the extra session. She also hauled in a career best 16 rebounds and stole the ball 5 times while going an astounding 21 for 26 from the field. Teammate Deanna Price also posted a career best of 31 points to go with 9 assists and 6 steals.

After holding a 3-point lead (46-43) at the break, the Lady Blue Bears caught fire in the second half, shooting 60% from the floor. With 6:25 remaining in regulation the Lady Blue Bears had built an 82-73 lead. ECSU rallied to tie the game and the two teams would trade baskets and trips to the free throw line as the game saw 4 ties in the waning minutes. After one of two free throws by Venkia Jones gave the Lady Vikings a 96-94 lead, LC's Kimberly London was the recipient of a length-of-the-court pass for an uncontested lay-up with 21 seconds to tie the game for the final time. It would represent the final basket of regulation as the game went to OT knotted at 96.

Junior Deanna Price scored a career high 31 points Tuesday night against Livingstone College.

In the extra session, the Lady Vikings would go on to outscore the Lady Blue Bears 25-17, 10 points of which came via the charity stripe. Besides Smith and Price, junior Tanika Hudgins was the only other Lady Viking to score in double figures, finishing with 23 points. For the game both teams shot exceptionally well from the floor as ECSU and LC finished at 50% and 56% respectively.

For Livingstone (6-15, CIAA 2-9) Jennifer Miller finished with a team high 28 points followed by Lamika Davis's 19 points. Kimone Johns and LaTanya Walker finished with 18 points and 10 points, respectively.
