ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Despite their loss to N.C. Central on Tuesday night, the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings have broken into the South Atlantic Region in ninth place.

The Lady Vikings (15-8, CIAA 10-3) claim the ninth spot with a 12-5 record in Division II and a 10-5 mark against regional opponents. Other CIAA schools receiving recognitions are Shaw University at #2 and North Carolina Central University at # 5. The regional rankings will be released every Wednesday, through March 1, 2006 before the finalized brackets for the Division II Women's basketball championship begins.
