ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Tara Owens, the head women's basketball coach at Elizabeth City State University has been named CIAA Coach of the Week.

This marks the third time this season Owens has received this recognition.

Coach Owens guided ECSU to an undefeated record over a three-game span. Last week, the Lady Vikings defeated Livingstone 121-113 in overtime, Johnson C. Smith 74-64 and Saint Paul's 85-67. The win over JCSU handed the Lady Golden Bulls their first conference loss if the season. The Lady Vikings are now 15-7 overall and 10-2 in the CIAA.

The Lady Vikings return to the RL Vaughan Center on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 as they play host to N.C. Central University. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
