HAMPTON, VA- Head women's basketball coach Tara Owens has been named CIAA Coach of the Week. This is her second weekly honor this season.

The Lady Vikings have not lost a game since a four point defeat at the hands of defending CIAA Champion Shaw University back on January 10, 2006 in Elizabeth City. Last week Owens led ECSU to a 3-0 record, posting wins over University of D.C., Saint Paul's and Virginia Union. ECSU (10-6 overall, CIAA 6-1) is riding a seven-game win streak and are in second place in the CIAA Eastern Division. This week they will host Bowie State before hitting the road to take on Chowan College and Shaw University.
