HAMPTON, VA- Celeste Trahan, a sophomore, center on the Elizabeth City State University women's basketball team has been named CIAA Player of the Week.

This is the second time this season the Stockton, CA native has received this honor as she also was recognized back on December 4, 2005. The CIAA's top leading scorer and rebounder, Trahan averaged 20 points, 17 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in two games last week. Her best outing came in the Lady Vikings' 79-62 win over Virginia State on January 12th where she registered 21 points, 17 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 steals. She also leads Division II in rebounding with an average of 15.4 rebounds per game and ranks 14th in the nation in scoring at 20.6 points per game.

The Lady Vikings will return to action on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 as they travel to Raleigh, NC to take on the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's College. Game time is slated for 5:30pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, log onto www.ecsuvikings.com.
