ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Celeste Trahan, a freshman on the Elizabeth City State University women's basketball team, has been named the top rookie in the CIAA for the third consecutive week.
Trahan, a 6-2 center from Stockton, CA, has made an immediate impact for the Lady Vikings this season, averaging 12.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. In the first ten games of her collegiate career, she has collected 4 double-doubles while becoming the Lady Vikings's top rebounder and second leading scorer. In two games (Barton College and Columbus State), Trahan fell a point short of collecting her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season. In the CIAA, she is 22nd in scoring, is ranked 3rd in rebounding, 2nd blocked shots, and is 11th in field goal percentage. In her last outing versus #5 Shaw University, Celeste collected 24 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks, going 11 for 15 from the floor.
