TILLAR TO BE HONORED BY 100% WRONG CLUB

ATLANTA, GA- Elizabeth City State University head football coach Waverly Tillar will be recognized for his accomplishments by the 100% Wrong Club next month in Atlanta, Georgia.

In his fourth at the helm of the football program at ECSU Tillar, a native of Richmond, VA, guided the Vikings to the best turnaround in school history. ECSU advanced to the CIAA Championship game for the first time since 1971, hosted their first ever post season game which was their first playoff appearance since 1981. After being predicted to finish next to last in the CIAA Eastern Division, Tillar led the Vikings to an Eastern Division Championship, the best record in school history (9-3) and went undefeated in conference play. A 1975 graduate of graduate of Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia he was named CIAA Coach of the Week three times was honored as the 2006 CIAA Coach of the Year.

The 100% Wrong Club's 73rd Annual Sports Banquet will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, February 24th. The 100% Wrong Club is an Atlanta based organization that began its efforts to acknowledge the accomplishments of athletes from Historical Black Colleges and Universities in 1934. Now in its 73rd year, the Club continues to maintain a dedicated effort in supports of athletes as well as recognition of National Sports achievers and distinguished National and local community service leaders.
