10/3/2025 11:20:00 AM

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- The Elizabeth City State Football team returns to Roebuck Stadium this Saturday as the Vikings square off against the Blue Bears of Livingstone College in a key CIAA matchup. ECSU returns to Roebuck Stadium for the first time in two weeks, following the Down East Classic in Rocky Mount and a bye week last week. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m in Elizabeth City, NC. Elizabeth City State (0-4, 0-1 CIAA) will face a Livingstone team that enters the weekend at 3-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Vikings are seeking their first win of the season, while the Blue Bears look to extend their winning streak to four games.

Last time out for ECSU
The Vikings dropped a 51-8 decision to Fayetteville State on September 20 in Rocky Mount, NC in the Annual Down East Viking Classic. The Vikings scored in the second quarter when Sean Worthy returned a punt 10 yards for a touchdown. Quarterback Christopher Perkins passed for 59 yards, with Ameil Braswell and Troy Smith contributing 19 receiving yards apiece.

Inside the Numbers:
• Passing: Perkins finished with a season low 59 yards and was sacked 5 times. ECSU pass protection must improve for Perkins to excel.
• Rushing: ECSU only rushed for 41 yards against FSU, and will need to get the ground game going to find success against the Blue Bears.
• Third down - ECSU was 1-13 on Third down attempts against FSU. The Vikings need to avoid negative plays on 1st & 2nd down to keep 3rd downs short and manageable

Last Time Out For LC
Last Time Out for LC Livingstone picked up a 31-7 home win over Lincoln (Pa.) in its last outing. Quarterback Elijah Alexander accounted for 198 passing yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for a score. Running back Javen Parker added a 24-yard touchdown run, and the Blue Bear defense limited Lincoln to just one late touchdown.

Inside the Numbers:
• Red Zone Efficiency: The Blue Bears were able to convert all three times they entered the redzone, while holding Lincoln to a 50% red zone scoring rate.
• Chunk Plays: Through the air, the Blue Bears averaged 14.1 yards per completion, consistently keeping the chains moving.
• Penalties: The only critique of the Blue Bears previous game was a large amount of penalties, with eight for 101 yards. Four of those penalties resulted in an opponent first down.
