WILSON, NC - The Elizabeth City State Vikings (1-1) put up a terrific effort, but the team could not quite pull out the win in a four-set loss to the Newberry Wolves (2-0), Friday evening. The Vikings put up a balanced attack, but the team fell just short in the 19-25, 25-21, 13-25, and 18-25 loss.
The team put forth a great effort in spite of the loss. The Vikings' balanced offensive attack was not quite enough to pull out the win. As a team, the Vikings recorded 40 kills in the match. The junior trio of Cami Mitrovich,
Kendall Washington, and
Fernanda Ocoro each recorded nine kills in the match. Fellow junior
Christian Bouie once again led the team's defensive efforts with six total blocks (four solo) in the match.
