WILSON, NC - The Vikings (1-2) returned to the court with a three-set loss to the Newberry Wolves (3-0), Saturday afternoon. The team recorded a solid overall performance in the match, but they came up short in the 23-25, 15-25, and 21-25 loss.
The loss came in spite of a solid overall effort by the Vikings. The team had a tough time against the Wolves defense, totaling 24 kills in the match. Junior Cami Mitrovich led the Vikings' attack with six kills in the match. Fellow junior
Kendall Washington added four kills.
With the loss, the Vikings fall to 1-2. The team would not have long to wait for their next competition as they will close out the Bulldog Invitational with a match against the host Barton Bulldogs.
