ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Elizabeth City State Athletics and Director of Athletics, James DuBose Jr. announce the hiring of Rasha Gladney as head volleyball coach.
Rasha Gladney embarks to Elizabeth City State after spending a season at Division I Alabama A&M University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. In her role with the Bulldogs, Gladney helped with the day-to-day operations, training, game planning, and recruiting of the program. Gladney helped guide the Bulldogs to eight wins, while helping outside hitter, Fatima Ramirez, to a Second Team All-SWAC selection.
"I am committed to building this program into a program that thrives on accountability, growth, and excellence on and off the court," stated Gladney.
Prior to her appointment with the Bulldogs, Gladney served as an assistant varsity coach at Duncanville High School in Texas. While in Texas, Gladney coached at MadFrog Volleyball Club leading 13s, 14s, 17s, and 18s division while achieving 100% collegiate recruitment for athletes. The programs would also qualify for the USA Volleyball (USAV) Girls National Junior National Championships during her tenure.
The Fort Worth, Texas native earned a bachelors in Education in 2017 and masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2019 from Missouri Baptist University.
Gladney inherits an 11 win program just two seasons removed from a CIAA Championship and three consecutive 20-plus wins.
