BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – Elizabeth City State University volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision to Bluefield State on Monday evening inside Ned Shott Gymnasium. The Vikings fell by identical 25-17 scores in all three sets.
Jorja Hoffman and Summer McGee paced the ECSU attack with nine kills apiece, while Clarke Blakemore added seven. Setter Serenity Lunnermon directed the offense with 25 assists and contributed two aces on the night.
Defensively, Hoffman tallied a team-high 11 digs, followed by Paola Gonzalez with seven and Raven Bailey with six. At the net, Blakemore, Lunnermon, and Jalayah Hamby each recorded two blocks.
As a team, ECSU finished with 28 kills, 27 assists, and 37 digs, while Bluefield State hit .303 with 42 kills and seven aces. The Big Blue were led by Allyson Martin's 11 kills and 11 digs.
With the loss, Elizabeth City State moves to 3-17 overall and 3-9 in CIAA play, while Bluefield State improves to 12-14 and 9-2 in conference action.
