Elizabeth City State Defeats Lincoln (PA) 3–1 in CIAA Volleyball Action
Elizabeth City, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University volleyball team earned a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Lincoln University (PA) on Thursday evening inside the R. L. Vaughan Center. The win improves the Vikings to 4–17 overall and 4–9 in CIAA play, while the Lions fall to 1–23 (0–13 CIAA).
ECSU claimed the match by set scores of 25–17, 22–25, 25–15, and 25–23, using a balanced offensive attack and strong serving performance to secure the home win.
The Vikings opened the night with a dominant first set, hitting .318 as a team to take a 25–17 advantage. Lincoln responded in the second frame, capitalizing on ECSU errors to even the match at one set apiece. Elizabeth City State regrouped, controlling the third set 25–15, and held off a late Lincoln rally in the fourth to clinch the match 25–23.
