Homer provided by Cummings; Vikings fall to Rams

WISNTON-SALEM, NC– The Lady Vikings traveled to Twin City Ballfields in Winston-Salem, NC for a non-conference doubleheader against the Rams on Thursday. Unfortunately, the Vikings found themselves in an early deficit in the second inning when the Rams scored off of a triple-base hit bringing in two runners. The Rams would control most of the contest.

Karrigan Belangia made her third start of the season and allowed 11 hits throughout the day. However, Janiya Cummings, a sophomore from Buckhead, NC, continued her hit streak and hit a home run in the top of the sixth inning.

Despite Cummings' efforts, the Rams took the first game of the doubleheader with a score of 7-2.

In the second game, the Lady Vikings were unable to get any hits, but Karma Fields managed to score a run after getting hit by a pitch during her at-bat. Ultimately, the Vikings lost the second match of the afternoon with a score of 3-1.
