Vikings Go 1-1 on Day 2 of the CIAA Softball Round-Up

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- On the second day of the CIAA Softball Round-up, Elizabeth City State softball team faced Claflin at the South Park Sports Complex. Unfortunately, the Vikings lost 13-5 in just five innings. Despite the defeat, the team managed to connect ten times out of 25 at-bats. Zeta Brown and Karma Fields hit a third base and second base respectively, which were among the Vikings' highlights.

The Lady Vikings' freshman, Allison Perry, scored her first collegiate Home Run in the second inning, which was a bright spot for the team.

In the second game of the day, Elizabeth City State played against Johnson C. Smith. The Vikings won the game with a score of 5-3 at South Park Sports Complex. Base running played a crucial role in this game against Johnson C. Smith. The Vikings struggled to score until the fourth inning when Zeta Brown singled to right field and brought in Elizabeth Kellum.

In the sixth inning, bases were loaded, and freshman Maci Higgins hit a double to center field, bringing in two Vikings and pushing the score to 3-2. The Vikings had three players successfully steal bases, and this helped them defeat JCSU with a score of 5-3.
