ELIZABETH CITY, NC-- The Elizabeth City State University men's basketball team (9-18 overall, 6-10 in CIAA, and 4-5 in North), dropped its final home contest of the season to the Virginia Union Panthers (13-13, 8-8 CIAA, 4-4 North) with a score of 60-50 in Wednesday's northern division matchup.
Christopher Wright, who finished with 13 points for the Vikings, led the team with 13 points, however, Wright's night would come to a sudden end at halftime due to an injury he sustained. Wright would also have 3 assists.
Michael Eads Jr., would provide a great spark off the bench for the Vikings finishing with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
In terms of rebounding, Jeremiah Tarver was phenomenal for ECSU finishing with a total of 9 total rebounds in the game. The Panthers would be too much for the Vikings finishing with 40 points in the paint.Â
Before the contest, Christopher Wright was recognized for reaching 1,000 career points in advance.
The Vikings will play Bluefield State on Saturday in Bluefield, West Virginia. The tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
