Football hits the road to face Livingstone after bye week

SALISBURY, NC | The ECSU football team returns to action after the bye week as they travel to Salisbury to face Livingstone for a CIAA match-up.  


Where: Salisbury, NC (Alumni Memorial Stadium)  

When: Saturday, October 5, at 4 p.m.

Match-up history 

The Vikings are 7-2 all-time against Livingstone, with the first meeting dating back to 2004. The Blue Bears got the best of the Vikings in the last match-up, defeating ECSU 19-0 on September 10, 2022. 


Last time out  

The Vikings suffered a 31-7 loss in the Down East Classic versus Fayetteville State.  


Defensive numbers 

  • The Vikings rank #2 in the conference in defensive scoring, allowing only seven touchdowns and 13.8 points per game.  

  • The Vikings rank #5 in total defense allowing, 299.5 yards per game. 

  • ECSU ranks #2 in total passing defense allowing 147.8 yards per game. 

  • Demorian Smith ranks 3rd in the conference in tackles with 34 averaging 8.5 per game and fifth in forced fumbles. 

  • TreShaun Harris ranks fourth in tackles for loss and ranks first in sacks.

The Vikings will continue their road trip when they visit Virginia Union in Richmond on Oct. 12.
