ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State Vikings football team (1-5, 0-4 CIAA) would host the Virginia Union Panthers (5-1, 3-1 CIAA) at Roebuck Stadium. The Panthers would rout the Vikings 42-20. 

Quinzel Lockhart, would be the outstanding performer for the Vikings hauling in 9 receptions, 175 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. Lockhart would also reach a career and school milestone by hauling in a 95-yard touchdown pass, making it the longest reception in ECSU program history.

De'von Grant, a Virginia Union transfer, played motivated against his former ball club. Grant would tally 11 total tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Kaezahn Johnson would make an interception before halftime, but the Panthers proved to be too much for the Code Blue defense, racking up 397 total yards.

The Vikings will now go on the road for three straight weekends. First up on the road trip, is Lincoln University (PA), at the Lincoln Athletics Stadium, on October 14. Kickoff is at 1 PM.
