Vikings stun nationally ranked Virginia State 17-16

ETTRICK, VA- In thrilling fashion, The Elizabeth City State football team (2-6, 1-5 CIAA) stuns the nationally ranked, Virginia State Trojans (7-1, 5-1 CIAA). 

Zechariah Adams-Duckson would continue his impressive running for the second week, this week totaling 136 rushing yards. 

Ian Edwards would have four receptions including a 50-yard touchdown pass from Donoven Davenport. Edwards would also add three rushes for 8 yards. 

Devon Grant would make a game-changing play coming out of the half intercepting a screen pass and returning it 25 yards for a Vikings score. 

Tracey White would have a game-high, 12 tackles. Demorian Smith would add 10 tackles, and Jaylen Dollar added 1.5 sacks for the Code Blue defense. 

"This is a signature program win, we have not beaten those guys in ten years, and beating a nationally ranked opponent in 15 years. This is an awesome feeling!" Exclaimed head coach Marcus Hilliard

The Vikings stun the nationally ranked Trojans of Virginia State, 17-16, after a missed field goal close to the end of regulation. 

The Vikings will now head to Bowie, Maryland to face the Bulldogs of Bowie State on October 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
