Elizabeth City State Vikings  (1-2, 1-0 CIAA) heads into this weekend coming off a 20-17 win over Winston-Salem State on a televised (AspireTv) cross divisional match up last Saturday at Roebuck Stadium. At halftime, the Viking were scoreless with WSSU leading 10-0. A spark from junior quarterback Tesean Jones helped get the Vikings on the scoreboard with a 15-yard pass to Camero Saunders to make the score 10-7 with under four minutes left in the third quarter. The final two blows to the Ram's defense came in the fourth quarter with a 75-yard touchdown from Jones, this time to senior wideout Zion Riddick and a game ending 50-yard fumble recovery from Raevon Freeman. On the defensive side, current CIAA Linebacker of the Week Juanya Majette and Traevon Freshwater combined for 30 stops to the Rams offense and garnered 3 tackles for loss collectively. Majette collected a game and career-high 17 tackles. Both players are currently ranked among the top 10 tacklers in the sports league (#2 and #5 respectively). In rushing, Darian King leads the charge with 96 yards from his last two starts, while averaging 9 yards per game. In receptions, Zion Riddick has broken over 500 receiving yards with 96 yards just in the last game.

The Shaw Bears return to their home stadium in hopes to defend a 17-14 comeback win over the reigning CIAA champion Bowie State Bulldogs.
