ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University Men's Basketball team drop their final home contest of the season 63-44 to Saint Augustine's. 

The Vikings improved to 4-10 in conference, 12-15 overall. 

Sophomore guard Gabe Kirkendoll (Jacksonville, NC) led the Vikings scoring efforts with 12 points as the lone Viking in double-digit scoring on the night.  

Senior forward Joseph Allen (Miami Gardens, FL) controlled the boards for ECSU with 12 rebounds and 1-point shy of a double-double going 4-8 from the field. 

The Falcons were pioneered by Hirk Williams who recorded 20 points. 

 
Saint Augustine's jumped out to an early 11-2 run that the Vikings that the Vikings made a valiant effort to chip away at. 

At the 4:43 mark a layup by Allen cut the scoring gap to three-points 19-16 SAU, but that would be the closest the Vikings could get to erasing the Falcon lead in the contest 

The Vikings struggled to get shots to drop in the second half allowing Saint Augustine's to claim their largest lead of the game and clinch the 63-44 win. 

ECSU shot 30.2 percent from the field, 14.3 percent from behind the arc, and 76.9 percent at the line. 

SAU shot 45.1 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from behind the arc, and 78.6 percent at the line.

The Vikings will travel to Orangeburg, S.C. to take on Claffin University on Saturday at 3:30p.m. The first time these teams met, the Vikings came out on top 60-57. Joseph Allen led the Vikings offensively and defensively with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
